I am so excited to share with you my experience at the Stokke launch party.  With their Norwegian aesthetic, Stokke strollers are completely unique & instantly recognizable.  They are always the envy of all playground moms.  But in addition to a beautiful look, they have an incredibly brilliant design. Hilde Angelfoss, the Director of Innovation & Design at Stokke, created the award winning Stokke Xplory.  There simply isn’t anything better.  It's won several awards and even been on display at the MoMA because of it's artistic design.  It was a privilege to get to know Hilde at the event who was visiting from Stokke headquarters in Norway.  Sweet & approachable, she shared with me her desire to create a stroller that facilitates bonding between mother & baby.  This was her main focus in creating a stroller that sits high above the ground, close enough to the mother to facilitate continued bonding and connection between mother and child.  The adjustable foot rest is a smart answer to the child's uncomfortable dangling feet.  And the fact that the strollers can fit easily at restaurant tables is so incredibly convenient for the city mom.  Hilde shared that while many stroller companies create strollers with features the parent's want, at Stokke they always start first with the child in mind, and create strollers that are best for the baby.  It is easy to see Hilde is so passionate about her work.  I also enjoyed discussing with Hilde her love of New York City and her favorite places to shop when she is in town!

At the launch party we were able to meet the two newest Stokke strollers, the Crusi and Scoot!  It was so exciting because these are both such fabulous strollers.  The Crusi is so beautiful and can easily accommodate two children while maintaing the ability to be a single stroller, depending on your needs.  The Scoot is perfectly compact, and has an amazing one handed fold.  When Cathleen from Stokke headquarters in Connecticut demonstrated how easy it was to fold up, the whole room cheered!  The Scoot even comes with a cup holder.  The highly anticipated Crusi and Scoot strollers will become available for purchase later this month.

I was completely blown away by the Stokke strollers - from the sleek functional hood (with a visor & ventilation!), the fabulous colors, the smooth and soft fabric, and the simply brilliant design - to the fact that every single employee I met was incredibly nice and so informative.  They have made a devoted and obsessed Stokke fan out of me.  A friend mentioned to me recently that a stroller really becomes part of your identity as a mom.  With this in mind, I couldn't be more honored to be strolling around a Stokke stroller.  Besides the baby, the stroller is a mom's best accessory!
